This is a new Cross Country competition for years 5 & 6. Selection is based on 4 boys and 4 girls. It is an opportunity for children to test themselves over a longer distance race. There are certificates of attendance on the day and a trophy and medals to the winning school, these will be presented at a short awards ceremony at the end of the event in the wood mill. Children will complete two ‘laps’ of the running circuit, which will be clearly signposted and marshalled at various points. All times, from all children will be collated and added together, the school with the combined fastest completion will be the winners of the Minsterworth Cup 2018. Thanks must go to Joanne Lambert for allowing use of her woodland for the event and Tri Max events for supplying signage for event.
What a terrific day we’ve had supporting Sports Relief. Thank you for your generosity which as always is above and beyond. We will give you our total donation in next week’s newsletter.
We launched our challenge on Wednesday with an assembly to tell the children all about it and sent home letters for the parents. Our Year 6 Sports Leaders organised and ran events today starting with selling official sports relief wrist bands, then at breaktime they sold milkshakes and fruit kebabs and finished with a circuits session for every class that they had devised. Here are some of the pictures that Mrs Williams took. Great fun for a worthy cause.
