Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to let you know that Mrs Horniman, our Head Teacher, has advised me of her intention to retire at the end of this academic year. Mrs Horniman has been associated with Tibberton CP School and Nursery for nearly thirty years, and taught some of you when you were pupils here yourself.
Much of what we value about Tibberton School and Nursery has been created under Mrs Horniman’s leadership. I am writing to let you know now, as we are shortly to start the recruitment process for a new Head Teacher. We will be interviewing early in April, with a view to having a new head teacher appointed and in-place for the start of the new academic year in September. In the meantime, it will be very much business as usual here. The recent parents survey, the results of which I shared with you at the end of last term, give me and my fellow governors some clear direction about what you value about our school, which we obviously need to keep, as well as areas where you would like to see further development.
I hope that we will get a very strong pool of candidates to choose from, like we did with the recent year three teacher vacancy. I will be in touch again to update you on progress once we have interviewed candidates. In the meantime,
I hope you all had a good half term holiday last week with your children, and that you were able to get out and about to enjoy the sunny weather at the back end of the week.
Chair of Governors
