Ladybirds - Nursery
The youngest children are in the Ladybird Class - Tibberton Early Years .
Staff in this class plan work following the Foundation Stage Curriculum which covers children being taught between the ages of two and five for our settings.
The Nursery and the Reception class have very close links.
The children often work together and take trips together. The staff liaise and plan together.
Ladybirds are taught by Fiona, Natalie, Keiana, Zoe, Alex and Hannah

Activities
Here are just a few of the type of activities we get up to at nursery.
Literacy

Bear Hunt Fun
We read the book ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’ before snack so the children were familiar with the story before we went on our very own bear hunt in forest school. The children went through long wavy grass, cold water, thick oozy mud, stumble tripped through the forest over branches and logs, braved a snow storm before arriving at a narrow gloomy cave. We found the bear and ran back through the way we came (like the story) to basecamp where we were safe!
The children immersed themselves in the story, joining in with refrains and the sensory elements, and anticipating what came next. Afterwards the children befriended the bear and adults heard parts of the story being re-enacted by the children eg stomping through the mud, splashing in the water and going into the cave (willow den).

It is our intention to make our setting accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.
We are open for 38 weeks per year. The holidays are fixed and fall within the local school holidays. We will notify you each September of these dates. There are 3 terms: approximately September to December, January to April and May to July. Each year we hold five INSET days when the nursery is closed. You will be given advance notice of these closures. In extreme circumstances nurseries may be closed at short notice due to floods, staff shortages, failure of services, natural disasters, disease, snow or adverse weather conditions, etc.
