Sports at Tibberton

At Tibberton we are committed to providing all children with opportunities to engage fully in Physical Education. We enable the children to develop basic physical competences, build confidence in their ability and build the foundations for a lifelong love of sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle. PE lessons are planned using the Get Set 4 PE platform, which aligns with our core values, our whole child approach to PE and objectives laid out in the National Curriculum. Our PE Curriculum Nutshell

Children experience gym, dance, team games, ball skills, invasion games and athletics as well as for some year groups more adventurous activities that take place off site – such as orienteering, mountain biking and archery.  PE is taught twice weekly to each class for two hours. All children who have not reached the KS2 national curriculum level are given swimming lessons to encourage water confidence and improve technique. In the summer term we hold sports day which all children take part in and we encourage parents to attend. In Key Stage 2 we enter into sports competitions, which allow pupils to compete against other schools in the local area.
