Music at Tibberton

Music is at the very heart of our school and nursery, and it plays a vital role in helping our children flourish both creatively and personally. From their very earliest years, children are given rich opportunities to sing, dance, play instruments and explore music from a wide range of cultures, developing confidence, expression and joy through shared musical experiences. We are incredibly fortunate to have Martin Mason teaching piano and Tim Coleman teaching drums, inspiring pupils with their expertise and passion. We also work closely with Gloucestershire Music to provide whole-class instrumental lessons, enabling children to learn instruments such as the violin, clarinet and recorder. Our pupils proudly perform in a variety of venues, including Cheltenham Town Hall, and take part in Young Voices each year for Key Stage 2, as well as our Spring Music Concert and Christmas performances for the local community. Music is a powerful and important life skill, and we are committed to giving children as many opportunities as possible to enjoy and succeed in it. We are especially lucky to have our inspirational Music Lead Teacher, Jo Kitto, whose enthusiasm, leadership and dedication ensure that music continues to thrive across our school.
