Outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning is a vital part of life at our nursery and school, supporting children’s wellbeing, curiosity and overall development. Our dedicated Forest School Leaders provide rich, engaging experiences that inspire exploration and a love of nature. In our nursery, children benefit from free-flow access to a self-contained outdoor space, while our KS1 pupils enjoy the freedom to move between indoor and outdoor environments throughout the day. This approach encourages independence, confidence and a lifelong love of learning as children follow their interests in a meaningful and stimulating environment.

Children enjoy continuous provision up until the end of Year 2, where they are able to explore, be creative, and engage in a balance of direct teaching, continuous provision and enhanced activities to deepen their learning and understanding. We are also fortunate to have a small pond and several garden areas, where children can grow their own flowers, fruit and vegetables, fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to the natural world. With a strong focus on biodiversity, we encourage wildlife through features such as hedgehog houses, bird boxes, bat boxes, bug hotels and bird tables, helping children develop respect for and appreciation of the environment around them.
