World Book Day March 2026

At Tibberton, we celebrate World Book Day as a whole-school event that brings our community together through a shared love of reading. From Nursery through to Year 6, children enjoy a day filled with stories, creativity and cosy reading experiences.

Classrooms and shared spaces are transformed into inviting reading areas where pupils can relax with a book, share favourite stories brought from home, and enjoy hot chocolate and biscuits while reading with friends. Throughout the day, children take part in a range of engaging activities such as character scavenger hunts, decorating Elmer, designing their own book covers, and completing book trails. Staff and older pupils also play an important role by reading stories to younger classes as reading buddies, helping to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

Our World Book Day celebrations are a joyful highlight of the year, encouraging every child to discover the pleasure of books and storytelling while celebrating reading across the whole school community.

Alongside this, we also run our annual Readathon, which encourages children to spend even more time enjoying books while raising funds to support reading initiatives.
